It’s a timeless story that people might have taken a bit for granted … until the pandemic sidelined it. We’re talking about Nutcracker. When it returned to the stage in 2021, the challenge was to get reporters who’d been there, done that to cover it once again. How did By George do it? We gave reporters on point (pun intended) stories they couldn’t resist. Stories about the Sugar Plum Fairy who was back on pointe after having a baby and the newlywed dancer whose engagement lasted three years thanks to the pandemic and the sensory-friendly performance made especially for families with children with special needs. Oh, and we can’t forget the story of the six young girls who finally got to dance their dream role of Clara.
